Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer- Intermediate level
Location: Stockport, Cheshire
Vertical is recruiting on behalf of a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy In Cheshire for an intermediate level mechanical design engineer. Our client is looking for candidates who have around 3+ years’ experience post-graduation and has previous experience working in a building services consultancy environment.

¢ Multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy who deliver engineering, design and project management services.
¢ Deliver services for the following; design, electrical, mechanical, renewable, BIM & Revit, surveys & Consultancy.
¢ Our client is most experienced within the mechanical field, with over 40% of the design engineers under the client’s employment being chartered mechanical engineers.
¢ Provide services to comply with BIM level 2. This requires the use of a single building model for thermal performance modelling, design calculations, CAD & Revit.
¢ Project portfolio includes commercial, Industrial, leisure, TV & arts, mixed use, education, leisure. Examples of projects being worked on by our client at the moment include; Orange building, Media city, Salford, ITV television centre, Leeds, Media college of arts, Manchester. Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool, office blocks in Warrington amongst many others.
” Thorough and professional design of the mechanical engineering content of the building and design projects from Inception to Completion, as part of a Project Team.
” To assist the senior/ principal Engineer in the determination of corporate policy on mechanical engineering matters and to assist in the direction of support staff as required to co-ordinate engineering designs.
” Working towards schedules and deadline delivery whilst complying with company procedures and standards.
” To promote and develop the highest quality of design and constructional standards with particular emphasis on value-for-money and cost-in-use, whilst assisting the senior/Principal in ensuring compliance with client requirements, current legislation and Codes of Practice.
” To participate in the development of improved working methods and developing close and effective working relationships with other disciplines to maximise the benefits of the consultancy services and integrated use of computer technology in the design process.
” Attend meetings with Senior/Principal engineers.
” Significant building services experience, minimum of 3+ years post-graduation experience.
” Interest in working towards chartership
” A degree in building related engineering or demonstrable proven experience in mechanical engineering.
” Full driving License
” An ambitious and responsible nature
Salary- £30-38K depending on experience
