Vertical is recruiting on behalf of an award winning, passionate Structural and Civil’s consultancy who is an approved employer for the ICE, looking to add a Structural Design Engineer to their established and close-knit office located in Manchester city centre.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and passionate Structural Engineer to progress forward in their career and gain the experience hands on that they require to achieve chartership.
As part of their established team of expert engineers and technicians, you will have an active hand on technical role preparing detailed structural calculations for multiple materials, such as steel and concrete whilst using appropriate software’s; Auto Cad, Revit, BIM, Tekla. You will work closely with technicians and civil engineers alike to deliver the best designs possible, whilst reporting to the senior/principle engineer.
The role also involves frequent client contact via meetings and skype during the delivery process of projects which vary across a variety of sectors such as, Commercial, Education, Hotels, retail, leisure and residential. Opportunities to go on site will be available.
Having already been accredited with at degree level to enable Chartership with IStructE or ICE, you will have gained practical experience of structural engineering within a consultancy or contractor environment, (although consultancy is preferred) and have a competent level of relevant IT skills including structural design software such as AutoCAD and BIM (Revit). You have proven ability to produce creative design solutions in multiple materials, and crucially – have a passion for creative and intuitive design.
Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
