The 2019 Vertical Recruitment Salary Review

For the third time, we have partnered with Place North West to survey property and construction professionals across the North West.

The Vertical salary review, which was completed by 532 property professionals in 2017, will explore current careers, salaries, opportunities and perceptions. The addition of planning and development career-related questions will provide even broader insight into the industry.

The 2017 survey took place a year after the EU referendum and 31% of respondents cited BREXIT as the main challenge for the industry. Despite these concerns, the results suggested a positive outlook overall with 76% of staff optimistic about the industry’s economic prospects. Salaries had soared by an average 7.9% since the previous year yet a large gender pay gap persisted across all disciplines and job levels, with an average overall industry pay gap of £9,971.

Lifestyle and well-being benefits were deemed to be important for employees with 29% of respondents stating that achieving a better work-life balance would lead them to search for a new job, ranking 3rd behind only increased salary and career progression.

We are interested to see how the changing political and economic landscape of the past two years has affected the industry and to explore any emerging trends in relation to property and construction careers.

By taking part in the survey you will receive early access to the findings which has previously proven to be a useful and insightful tool for our clients and candidates. You will also be entered into a draw to win two tickets to a Place event of your choice (subject to availability).
