Assistant Project Manager/Project Manager – Manchester (Construction Consultancy)

The Client
Our client is a national, commercial multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy where the people are at the heart of their company. Their Manchester office has grown rapidly since opening in 2012 – starting with Project Management and Building Surveying, expanding its services into Quantity Surveying and Building Services over the recent years. You’ll play a vital role in supporting them on their journey to providing a full multi-professional service from this office.

The Assistant Project Manager/Project Manager role:
Your daily responsibilities in this Project Manager role will be to lead multi-disciplinary project teams and ensure delivery of the project objectives. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging new-build and refurbishment schemes across both the private and public sectors (including education, healthcare, commercial, residential) with your typical duties including:

” Co-ordinate and lead the activities of team members, monitoring project activities, project fee income and expenditure
” Ensure deliverance of business plan objectives
” Key account management, ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
” Provide expert opinion

The role will also involve frequent travelling and will require attending various sites as necessary.

The Assistant Project Manager/Project Manager:
” Experience in a compatible role in the construction environment (Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor or Building Surveyor background)
” Knowledge of building technology and construction principles
” A good understanding of forms of building contract (JCT and NEC3) and experience of contract administration
” Ability to control day to day programming and planning, monitor progress and expenditure of projects
” Excellent communication and client facing skills, combined with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
” Membership of a construction related professional body, such as CIOB or RICS – desirable
” Project management related qualification (Prince2 or similar) – desirable
” Experience in using Microsoft Project, Asta or Primavera software
” Full UK driving licence
