Bridge Engineer Manchester
I am working on behalf of a national transport and infrastructure consultancy whom are currently recruiting for an experienced Bridge Engineer in their state of the art Manchester office.
The client is one of the North West’s leading engineering consultants, offering professional planning, engineering and architectural design. Construction and programme & construction management services throughout the UK and internationally.
The client has a fantastic reputation in the market and a proven track record of successfully delivering bridge engineering schemes for Highways England and Local Authorities.
The modern office is located the near major transport links and is easy to access from the surrounding area.
The office has multi-disciplinary transportation assessment and design capability in rail and highway schemes, working on roles locally, throughout the UK and further afield.
As a Bridge Engineer you will have the following daily responsibilities:
” Take a developing role in the design of major civil engineering structures.
” Prepare designs under supervision.
” Assist with the programme and deliverables of your project.
” Analysis and design of road/rail bridges and other structures.
” Inspection, assessment and strengthening of road/rail bridges and other structures.
” Prepare contract documents.
” Report writing and assist in production of technical reports and documents.
” Experience with bridge and related structural inspection assessment and design schemes.
” Previous design and project management experience delivering to quality, time and budget.
” Experience in road and/or rail projects.
” Previous skills in current inspection, assessment and design.
” Previous exposure with clients of both national and local authorities, together with major contractors.
” Ability to manage staff and project Health and Safety responsibilities including compliance with CDM legislation.
” You will have a current clean driving license and be willing to travel throughout the UK to visit sites.
” Working knowledge of the Eurocode Standards.
” Degree educated or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Bridge, Civil or Structural Engineering.
” Ideally educated to MSc level or equivalent.
” Working towards ICE or IstructE chartered accreditation
