Job Description

Our Client, a leading Construction Consultancy has an immediate requirement for a Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to be seconded into a Framework supporting one of the UK’s major Utilities suppliers.

The successful Quantity Surveyor will be required to work full-time on a key infrastructure project that is classed as critical. The project is a c £25m underground electrical transmission and associated AC/DC substations project for a tunnel that’s being designed and constructed to reduce emissions

In order to be considered for this position you must have the following:
” At least 10 years Quantity Surveying experience within the Electrical/ Substation / Utilities sectors
” Experience of pre-contract including Procurement and Tender Documentation
” Extensive experience of the NEC3 form of contract

Both the Consultancy and end-Client are fully operational and support homeworking during the current restrictions. You will therefore be expected to work from home

Role and Responsibilities
” Responsible for the management and delivery of this complex projects, ensuring effective commercial and contractual control in compliance with NEC3 processes and procedures
” Preparation of Tender and Contract Documents
” Two-stage tender procurement: Analysis of sub-contractor packages with contractor and reviewing options.

All being well, the project is due to start on site in Seb/Oct 2020, so this could be a long and stable commission
