Job Description

Graduate Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services

Vertical Recruitment is working closely with a leading independent Building Services Consultancy in Manchester, due to increase work load they are currently looking to recruit a Graduate Electrical Building Services Engineer. The company are working on a range of complex and interesting projects across Commercial, Residential, Hotels and Education sectors. This includes a £250M redevelopment of an Iconic Manchester hotel with additional residential and commercial blocks.

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Graduate Electrical Design Engineer to play a key role in the design and delivery of a variety of building services projects. The successful candidate will join an approachable close-knit company who provide a great sense of responsibility and involvement to its engineers. This role also offers the right candidate excellent career progression and personal development potential.

What you’ll be doing:

Working closely with Senior colleagues and the design team delivering the full range of electrical services from concept stage through to detailed design.
Using software packages such as, CAD, Relux, Amtech and Revit MEP.
Liaising closely with other professionals, including architects, developers, and contractors. In-house and external project teams
Attending a range of project and technical meetings
Working to Health and safety guidelines.
Advising clients and architects on energy use and conservation in a range of buildings and sites, aiming to minimise the environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprint

What we need from you:


An Electrical Engineering or Building Services Degree.
Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and collaborators.
Willingness to learn and the desire to develop a career in the Building Services sector.


Experience working as an Electrical Design Engineer, gained with a Consultancy or M&E Design Build Contractor.
Experience in delivering packages of work including calculations, drawings, specifications.
AutoCAD and Amtech experience and ideally Revit.
