Infrastructure Engineer

My client has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer to be based in their Manchester office.

The job brief is to provide an immediate and vital contribution to help the ambitious team in continuing to exceed the expectations of clients and, in so doing, continue the development of the company.

The successful applicant will find themselves working on multiple challenging projects simultaneously. They will be proficient in undertaking several aspects of preliminary and detailed design of public highways including geometry, drainage, pavements and other elements of highway schemes.

The Transport and Infrastructure team combines expertise with innovative thinking. With a focus on the delivery of high quality, value engineered infrastructure capable of serving the nation’s current and future needs.

The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following areas:

” You will be fully conversant with our industry standard design software packages, Civil 3D (although extensive experience in the use of OpenRoads or PDS would be considered as long as there is a willingness to train on Civil 3D) and Microdrainage.
” With strong IT skills and a practical approach, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to work well in a team environment whilst also having personal initiative.
” The right candidate must be capable of working independently in producing drawn details of their design work in the form of AutoCAD drawings for regulatory approval and construction.
” You must also demonstrate an aptitude, and preferably an ability, to effectively delegate design responsibility to others and act in a mentoring role to less experienced staff.
” We are also looking for an aptitude or capabilities in an outward facing capacity as the company representative in dealings with our clients on Technical Matters.
” You will also be able to demonstrate strong communication and personal effectiveness skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
