Working with a wide range of public and private sector clients, enhance land and property holdings, working on some of the most complex real estate projects in the UK, making difficult development happen and reducing property occupation costs.
They offer a wide range of specialist professional services from environmental, infrastructure and town and country planning, business rates advice, valuation and lease advisory, through to development including compulsory purchase and land assembly, private sector development management, agency and consultancy expertise.
The Project Manager/Employee Agent
We are looking for an ambitious, experienced project manager / employee agent within our Sheffield offices. You will responsible for advising clients for the appointment of other consultants and in consultation with the client, prepare a client brief for the project
In consultation with the Client’s solicitors negotiate and arrange completion of the appointments of Other Consultants, including the extent of the services to be provided by each of them to meet the requirements of the Client’s Brief.
The projects would be predominantly new build Student Accommodation schemes where we act in the capacity as EA / QS. Occasionally we get involved in refurbishment projects in the same sector.
We undertake some private residential developments, usually high rise and city centre and hotel developments.
” Provide liaison between the Client and Other Consultants
” Obtain details of the professional indemnity insurance held by Other Consultants and advise the Client on its adequacy
” Co-ordinate the activities of Other Consultants
The Project Manager/Employee Agent Role
” Obtain the Client’s instructions in relation to the Project and convey them to the Other Consultants for implementation
” Check with the architect the form and content of any planning applications. Progress the planning process and arrange that a check of all approvals or refusals is carried out by the Other Consultants.
” Check with the Other Consultants which other statutory approvals are required and that applications for approval are submitted. Check that Other Consultants apply for amendments to statutory approvals granted when necessary.
” In conjunction with Other Consultants, give advice on contract procedures and documentation and advise the Client on its obligations under the Building Contract
” Monitor the issue of the cost plan information
” With Other Consultants, prepare a list of suitable contractors to be invited to tender the Project. Seek the Client’s approval
” With Other Consultants and the Client’s solicitors, advise the Client on suitable forms of contract and tender procedures, co-ordinate the preparation of tender documents and arrange for the despatch of invitations to tender
