Job Description

We are currently recruiting for one of the UK’s leading construction consultancy firms. They require a Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team in the North West.

The company operate a fully remote working arrangement, with offices in central Manchester and Lancashire offering desk space if preferred / required.

The successful candidate will join a long established multi-disciplinary team and work alongside other quantity surveyors, project managers, surveyors, engineers and senior professionals.

The workload will be varied and will cover both public & private sectors. Their strong pipeline of work is based upon repeat basis combined with new wins, with their strength being the support of our Health, Education, Commercial & Local Government clients.

Responsibilities will include:
” Preparing and presenting order of cost estimates.
” Advising on procurement strategies.
” Preparation of tender documents (based on schedule of works, bills of quantities and employer’s requirements) and manging the tender process.
” Input into value engineering.
” Preparation of tender reports.
” Compilation of contract documents.
” Assessment and agreement of interim valuations.
” Making cost checks and preparation of financial reports.
” Dealing effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes.
” Negotiation and agreement of final accounts.
” Cost-in-use studies.
” Interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
” Managing workload and resources ensuring quality and timeliness of service delivery to clients.
” Establishing and maintaining client relationships.

Essential Criteria
” Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors membership.
” Sound cost management experience in professional practice post MRICS qualification.
” Excellent analytical skills and proficient in interrogating numerical and financial data.
” Sound presentation, verbal, written and communication skills.
” Personable and able to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with clients, in order to deliver a quality service and also maximise opportunities for repeat business.
” Proficient in a wide range of IT skills including Microsoft Office packages (specifically Microsoft Excel and Project).
” Hold a full UK driving licence.
