Senior Electrical Building Services Design Engineer
Vertical Recruitment is working with a Leading UK Building Services Contractor, due to a number of successful project acquisitions they are looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Design Engineer within their successful design team in Warrington.
The position will involve taking a lead role in the design of Electrical Building Services on assigned projects for industrial and commercial buildings. Representing the company at Design team meetings and Tender interviews, demonstrating a high level of technical competence. Knowledge of Energy from Waste Plants beneficial.
Competent Engineer with broad knowledge of the industry capable of detail design for Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm systems, Security, data, Life Safety systems.
HNC or Degree qualified with a minimum of 10 years’ design experience. Providing guidance and managing junior members of the design and CAD team.
Experience coordinating supply chain design into over-arching project Electrical design including, Fire Alarms and Lighting.
Working knowledge of IEE Wiring Regulations, Building Regulations and Fire Safety Standards / codes required. Able to coordinate Electrical design with Mechanical and BMS.
Able to attend design team meetings to present design proposals and manage the design process of addressing comments through to close out, acceptance and sign off. Working knowledge of Revit MEP and AutoCAD beneficial.

” Cable sizing and breaker selection – Distribution schematics
” Lighting & Emergency Lighting calculations / controls
” Working knowledge of BS 9999 and ADB
” Detailing Electrical interfaces for Life Safety including back-up power and UPS
” Detailing Security / CCTV / Access Control / Intruder detection
” Coordination of Data networks for Building Services
Delivering an integrated design in accordance with the design programme.
Managing team design quality in accordance with company QA policies.
Building strong individual relationships and team spirit, lead by example.
Provide an effective interface with Senior Management, other team Principals and other departments within the business.
Take a leading role in achieving a high level of technical competence within the Design Department.
Represent the company at post tender interviews, etc.
Investigate and evaluate new methods and technologies.
Support / mentor trainees and other team members.
Take a pro-active approach to customer satisfaction.
Candidate needs to be personable with excellent communication skills who can lead by example.
