Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services
Vertical Recruitment is working closely with a leading independent Building Services Consultancy in South Manchester. The business remained strong throughout last year and now due to increase work load they wish to appoint a Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer. The company are working on a range of complex and interesting projects across commercial, residential, healthcare and education sectors.
This excellent opportunity requires ambitious electrical design engineer to play a lead role in the design and delivery of a variety of building services projects. The successful candidate will join an approachable close-knit company who provide a great sense of responsibility and involvement to its engineers. Responsibilities will include:
” Taking a lead role in the design and delivery of Building Services schemes in a range of sectors.
” Produce Load Schedules and calculation of External HV/LV services to incomer
” Cable sizing and breaker selection – Distribution schematics
” Lighting & Emergency Lighting calculations / controls
” Working knowledge of BS 9999 and ADB
” Detailing Electrical interfaces for Life Safety including back-up power and UPS
” Detailing Security / CCTV / Access Control / Intruder detection
” Coordination of Data networks for Building Services
” Excellent communication skills, able to liaise with clients, contractors, manufacturers, fellow professionals.
” Attend regular client and design team meetings.
” Supervision of engineers and technicians.
” Relevant degree ideally chartered or working towards becoming chartered.
” Minimum 8 years’ experience of Electrical building services design
