Role Overview

As a Project Director, you will provide senior leadership and strategic oversight across multiple projects, ensuring delivery excellence, commercial performance, and client satisfaction. You will act as a key ambassador for the consultancy, shaping project strategy, mentoring teams, and contributing to business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of multiple large-scale projects across RIBA Stages 1–6, from inception through to completion.
  • Define project strategies, goals, deliverables, and success criteria aligned with client objectives.
  • Provide commercial leadership, including budget oversight, forecasting, risk management, and contract administration.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary senior point of contact.
  • Coordinate and guide multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Mentor Project Managers and other senior staff, fostering high-performing, collaborative teams.
  • Implement and optimise internal project management systems, processes, and governance frameworks (NEC, JCT).
  • Monitor project KPIs and implement lessons learned across current and future programmes.
  • Support business development initiatives, including proposal strategy and client engagement.
  • Promote Health & Safety excellence, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 and best practice.

About You

  • Extensive experience in senior project delivery roles within consultancy, ideally across regeneration, mixed-use, or public sector programmes.
  • Proven track record managing multiple high-value projects across the full project lifecycle (RIBA Stages 1–6).
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience with budgets, forecasting, and contract management.
  • Exceptional client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experienced in leading and developing teams, fostering collaboration, and delivering results.
  • Professional accreditation desirable (MRICS, MAPM, CIOB, or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, solutions-driven approach.
