Associate / Associate Director Civil Engineer
Vertical Recruitment are working with a multidisciplinary built environment consultancy delivering complex projects across a wide range of sectors. The business has a strong national presence and a reputation for technical excellence, collaborative working and long term client relationships. Due to an increase in workload and a growing order book, they are looking to appoint an Associate or Associate Director level Civil Engineer to strengthen their leadership team.
The Opportunity
This role will suit an experienced civil engineer with a strong background in building related civil engineering, combined with hands on people management and excellent client facing skills. The position blends leadership of key projects, client management and mentoring responsibilities, supporting both workload delivery and technical development within the team.
Role and Responsibilities
You will be expected to:
• Provide technical support and oversight for civil engineering design across multiple project types
• Lead major projects with a client-focused approach
• Apply commercial acumen and manage project finances
• Mentor and guide engineers and technical staff in their development
• Contribute to income generation through repeat business, leads and involvement in bids
• Ensure appropriate processes and quality standards are followed across the team
Ideal Candidate
You will ideally have:
• Around 10 years post qualification experience or more
• Chartered status or be close to achieving it
• Proven experience managing people and projects within a consultancy environment
• Strong technical capability in flood risk, drainage, highways and earthworks
• Confidence working at Associate or Associate Director level with clients and internal teams
