Vertical Recruitment is partnering with a highly regarded independent fire protection consultancy known for its technical excellence and delivery of advanced fire engineering services on high‑profile domestic and international projects. Due to continued growth, the firm is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join its U.S. team and play a key role in technical leadership and project delivery.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead complex fire protection, life safety, and code compliance work across a broad range of sectors, including commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial projects. You will provide hands‑on engineering design, performance‑based analysis, and client‑facing consulting services.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and engineering of fire protection systems, including fire suppression, alarms, smoke control, and life safety strategies.
Conduct fire and life safety code assessments and performance‑based designs in accordance with NFPA standards and IBC/IFC.
Prepare technical plans, reports, specifications, and documentation to support fire protection solutions.
Manage project execution, ensuring exceptional technical quality and client satisfaction.
Serve as technical liaison with clients, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), contractors, and project teams.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to staff development.
Support business development efforts, including proposals and client engagement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection (or eligibility for licensure in the U.S.) preferred.
8–12+ years of fire protection engineering consulting experience, including system design and code analysis.
Strong command of NFPA codes, IBC/IFC, performance‑based design, and industry tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, fire modeling).
Excellent communication, leadership, and client‑facing skills.
Salary & Benefits
Competitive salary range: $160,000 – $180,000+ USD, commensurate with experience and qualifications (some comparable roles cite similar ranges).
