An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a highly regarded UK consultancy delivering nationally significant energy and infrastructure programmes. This role sits within a flagship energy infrastructure programme in North Wales, connecting a new nuclear power station to the national grid. The project includes extensive 400kV overhead line works, a 4km tunnel beneath the Menai Strait, and major substation upgrades. You’ll be involved from the early design stage, offering genuine influence over commercial strategy and project outcomes.
The position offers hybrid working, combining home-based flexibility with regular collaboration from the Warrington office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide commercial and cost management support from early design through delivery
- Prepare cost plans, budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
- Support procurement strategy and tendering activities
- Administer contracts and manage commercial risk (NEC experience preferred)
- Manage change control, variations, and compensation events
- Undertake cost analysis, value engineering, and risk management
- Assess interim valuations, payments, and final accounts
- Act as a key commercial interface with clients, designers, and contractors
About You:
- Strong experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large infrastructure or utilities projects
- Proven knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3 / NEC4)
- Confident operating in a client-facing, collaborative environment
- Able to contribute at both strategic and delivery level
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Working towards or holding MRICS (desirable)
