About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Structural Engineer to join a well-established and award-winning structural engineering team in Leicester. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer looking to take ownership of projects, support junior staff, and play a key role in delivering high-quality design solutions across a varied portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structural design solutions across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, education, and healthcare
- Take responsibility for projects from concept through to completion
- Produce and review design calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other consultants
- Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and BIM Level 2 requirements
Project Portfolio
- Projects across the East Midlands and UK
- Sectors include education, healthcare, industrial, commercial, and residential
- Project values ranging from £250k to £30m
Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 5–10 years’ experience in structural engineering
- Strong design experience in steel, timber, masonry, and reinforced concrete
- Good understanding of geotechnical engineering principles
- Experience working within BIM Level 2 environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Working towards Chartered status (IStructE or ICE) preferred
