About the Role
An Associate Structural Engineer is sought to take on a key leadership position within a well-established Leicester office. This role offers the opportunity to influence business strategy, lead a team, manage high-value client relationships, and drive the continued growth of the structural engineering function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the structural engineering team within the Leicester office
- Take overall responsibility for project delivery, performance, and profitability
- Provide high-level technical guidance and governance across all projects
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor
- Identify and drive business development opportunities
- Mentor senior engineers and support succession planning within the team
- Ensure full compliance with industry standards, codes, and BIM Level 2 requirements
Project Portfolio
- Wide-ranging projects across the East Midlands and UK
- Sectors include education, healthcare, industrial, commercial, and residential
- Project values ranging from £250k to £30m+
Experience & Skills
- 10–15+ years’ experience in structural engineering
- Demonstrable experience in a senior leadership or Associate-level role
- Strong track record in delivering complex and large-scale projects
- Expertise in steel, timber, masonry, and reinforced concrete design
- Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles
- Experience in BIM Level 2 environments
- Strong commercial and financial awareness
Qualifications
- Chartered Structural Engineer (IStructE or ICE)
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
