Fire Surveyor – Façades
Remote (UK Wide)
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + car
Our client is a leading consultancy within the fire safety and façade sector, delivering expert technical advice across façade systems, passive fire protection, and compliance. They work closely with developers, contractors, and building owners to ensure projects meet the latest fire safety regulations and technical standards.
This is a fully remote role, open to candidates based anywhere in the UK, with travel to site visits as required.
As a Façades Technical Consultant, you will be responsible for carrying out intrusive façade surveys, site inspections, and producing detailed technical reports focused on fire safety and compliance. You will support façade packages as an independent assessor, while also assisting with dry-lining, fire stopping, and compartmentation reviews.
You will also contribute to PAS9980 Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls (FRAEW), helping clients identify remediation solutions and ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct intrusive façade surveys and site inspections
- Produce technical reports highlighting remediation requirements and compliance issues
- Support clients with fire stopping and compartmentation solutions
- Review technical designs and product installations on site
- Assist with PAS9980 FRAEW reports
- Carry out passive fire protection and compartmentation surveys
- Complete fire engineering and design reviews
- Stay up to date with fire safety regulations and façade legislation
Requirements
- Experience within façades, passive fire protection, or fire safety consultancy
- Strong technical report writing skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good knowledge of Building Regulations, Approved Document B, Fire Safety Order, and relevant BS Standards
- Understanding of façade systems, fire stopping products, and passive fire protection solutions
- Degree/Diploma in Building Surveying, Fire Engineering, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or similar preferred
- Façade Project or Site Managers looking to move into consultancy will also be considered
