Quantity Surveyor

  • Location Warrington, ENG
  • Salary £37k/year - 47k/year
  • Posted April 28, 2026

I’m currently supporting a well-established, director-led consultancy in appointing a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing North West team.

They’re part of a global engineering and technical consultancy, but the regional team offers a more personal and collaborative environment, with direct access to senior leadership and clear opportunities for progression.

This opportunity has arisen due to internal progression, which reflects the company’s ongoing investment in its people and long-term development.

Why this role stands out

For those based in the North West, this role offers a strong balance between career progression and day-to-day practicality:

  • Hybrid working - a mix of home, office/site
  • Projects across the North West and North Wales - avoiding excessive travel or long stays away
  • Director-led project delivery, giving you regular exposure to senior decision-makers and hands-on guidance
  • Above-market salary and benefits package
  • Structured RICS APC support with a strong track record of success

Project Exposure

You’ll be involved in a range of technically complex and high-value schemes, including:

  • Nuclear infrastructure projects (Warrington & Cheshire) – supporting major frameworks within highly regulated environments
  • Marine and waterfront development (Holyhead) – redevelopment of a key UK port, including marine works and infrastructure upgrades

These projects are led at director level, meaning you’ll gain valuable insight and mentorship while working on significant, long-term programmes.

The Role

You’ll support the commercial management of projects from early-stage feasibility through to final account, including:

  • Cost planning, estimating, and procurement
  • Contract administration (NEC3/NEC4)
  • Change control, valuations, and final accounts
  • Client and stakeholder engagement
  • Supporting project teams to maintain cost and programme objectives

About you

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
  • 5+ years’ QS experience within infrastructure / engineering / major projects
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)
  • Ideally working towards RICS chartership (full support provided)

This is a strong opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to progress within a supportive, director-led environment, while working on high-profile projects that are locally based.

It offers a good balance of professional development, project quality, and practical working arrangements for those in the North West, with the added benefit of direct exposure to senior leadership.
