Intermediate Mechanical Engineer
Vertical Recruitment are working with a well-established building services consultancy is looking to appoint an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join its growing Manchester team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer with 2 to 5 years' experience who is looking to develop their technical expertise, work on a diverse range of projects, and progress their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The business delivers multidisciplinary engineering solutions across a wide variety of sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, transport, infrastructure and highly regulated environments. You'll gain exposure to projects from concept design through to delivery, working alongside experienced engineers and industry specialists.
As an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer, you will support the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects, working closely with senior engineers, clients and wider design teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing mechanical building services designs and calculations
- Assisting with the preparation of specifications, reports and technical documentation
- Developing HVAC, public health and sustainable building services solutions
- Coordinating designs with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders
- Attending client, design and site meetings
- Supporting project delivery from feasibility through to construction
- Ensuring designs comply with current regulations and industry standards
About You
- Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
- 2 to 5 years' experience within a building services consultancy environment
- Experience designing mechanical building services systems
- Good understanding of relevant UK standards and regulations
- Familiarity with industry software such as Hevacomp, IES, Revit or similar
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ambition to continue developing professionally and work towards Chartership
