Vertical Recruitment is partnering with a highly respected multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy to appoint an Associate Quantity Surveyor for its growing Manchester team.
This is a rare opportunity to play a leading commercial role on one of the North West's most significant public sector developments. You'll join a long-established independent consultancy with a heritage spanning more than 100 years. With offices across the UK and internationally, the business provides expertise across cost consultancy, project management, building consultancy, architecture and engineering, delivering projects across both the public and private sectors.
The Role
As an Associate Quantity Surveyor, you'll take a key role in leading cost consultancy services across major projects while helping to support the continued growth of the Manchester office.
Working closely with senior leadership and clients, you'll provide commercial leadership throughout the project lifecycle, build and develop key relationships, and help shape the future direction of the team.
This opportunity would suit either an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to step into an Associate position or an established Associate seeking greater project responsibility and long-term progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading cost management services from project inception through to completion
- Preparing cost plans, feasibility studies and budget reports
- Managing procurement strategies and tender processes
- Providing commercial advice to clients and project teams
- Monitoring project costs, risks and performance
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting business development activities
- Mentoring and developing junior team members
- Contributing to the growth and success of the Manchester office
About You
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- MRICS qualified or working towards chartership
- Strong consultancy-side quantity surveying experience
- Experience delivering medium to large-scale construction projects
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage multiple commissions
- Commercially astute with strong leadership potential
