Assistant Project Manager
We're supporting a well-established, employee-focused multidisciplinary consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering complex infrastructure, engineering and environmental projects across the UK. Their Infrastructure team partners with major utilities, local authorities and public sector organisations to deliver programmes that improve the resilience and reliability of critical national infrastructure.
Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint either an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager to join their expanding Infrastructure division. The Project
You'll be supporting the delivery of a significant infrastructure programme focused on strengthening and improving the resilience of the electricity network across North Wales.
Following the widespread disruption caused by severe weather events, substantial investment has been committed to upgrading and reinforcing existing network infrastructure. The programme involves coordinating a wide range of activities to enable essential works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to local communities.
This role centres around the planning, coordination and stakeholder engagement required to make major infrastructure projects happen. You'll work closely with local authorities, highways teams, landowners, environmental bodies, contractors and maintenance teams.
It's a highly collaborative role that offers excellent exposure to how major infrastructure programmes are delivered from a project management perspective.
The Role
As part of the Infrastructure team, you'll help coordinate multiple live projects across North Wales, acting as the link between technical teams, contractors, local stakeholders and clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the successful delivery of infrastructure projects from planning through to completion.
- Building strong relationships with landowners, local authorities, highways departments, contractors and internal project teams.
- Coordinating planning applications, permits, licences and statutory approvals.
- Monitoring programme milestones, budgets and project risks.
- Preparing project documentation, reports and stakeholder communications.
- Working alongside multidisciplinary technical teams to ensure projects remain on programme.
- Supporting NEC contract administration and commercial processes, with training provided where required.
- Regularly visiting project sites across North Wales to coordinate activities and engage with stakeholders.
About You
We're looking for ambitious individuals who enjoy taking ownership, building relationships and driving projects forward.
You may currently be:
- An Assistant Project Manager looking to take the next step.
- A Project Manager looking for greater exposure to major infrastructure programmes.
- Working within construction, consultancy, property or the wider built environment and keen to transition into infrastructure.
You'll ideally have:
- A degree in Project Management or relevant built environment subject.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong organisation and coordination abilities.
- The confidence to manage multiple workstreams and priorities.
- A proactive mindset and a willingness to solve problems.
- NEC contract experience would be advantageous but is by no means essential - support will be provided.
- A full UK driving licence as travel across North Wales is a key part of the role.
