Are you an Electrical Design Engineer looking to join a growing, employee-owned building services consultancy where you'll work on a diverse range of projects and benefit from genuine career progression?
Our client is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding Birmingham office. Working within a collaborative multi-disciplinary team, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical building services designs across a wide variety of sectors.
The Role
You'll be involved in the design and delivery of electrical building services solutions for projects including:
- Commercial
- Industrial
- Healthcare & Medical
- Leisure
- Retail
- Residential
- Extra Care
- Mixed-Use Developments
Working closely with clients, architects and fellow engineers, you'll contribute throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept design through to project completion.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical building services systems across a range of projects
- Produce calculations, reports, specifications and technical drawings
- Liaise directly with clients and external design teams
- Coordinate and manage project delivery
- Support contractor and supplier management
- Promote sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions
- Ensure designs comply with current British Standards and industry regulations
About You
You'll ideally have:
- Experience within electrical building services design
- A relevant qualification in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
- Experience using recognised electrical design/calculation software
- Strong knowledge of British Standards and current industry regulations
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to manage your own workload while working effectively within a team
Desirable:
- Membership of CIBSE, IET or another relevant professional institution
- Engineering Council registration
- Knowledge of sustainable building design
- Full UK Driving Licence
