Associate Director Fire Engineering – Manchester

Vertical Recruitment are working with one of the industry’s most sort-after Independent Fire Engineering Consultancies with a national presence. Our client requires an Associate Director level Fire Engineer in Manchester. The company has a proven track record of delivering advanced Fire Engineering services on a wide range of high-profile projects.

The successful candidate will support in delivery of fire safety advisory projects, direct and manage their own projects and develop senior and junior engineers of the wider team. The role will involve interactive and collaborative working with our clients, fire engineers and with colleagues throughout the business.

Candidates must have the following experience:

  • Over 15 years of relevant experience within Fire Engineering.
  • Ideally the successful candidate should have a recognised Fire Safety Engineering degree or suitable alternative qualification, as well as holding Chartered Fire Engineer status
  • Demonstrable technical fire engineering experience with the ability to manage remote teams.
  • A credible influencer and presenter with excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Commercial awareness with good P&L skills
  • Experience of developing strong relationships with business development and marketing to formulate and implement strategies for continued growth and market awareness

Your role and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Excellent report-writing skills.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • Demonstrable, relevant ‘hands-on’ professional experience within fire engineering design and Significant experience of applying fire engineering in the design of various buildings.
  • Project experience within the commercial, residential, government and healthcare markets is also advantageous.
  • Operational/financial accountability.
  • Knowledge of the UK market and approvals process.
  • A solid understanding of international fire engineering principles and standards, including NFPA and interaction with insurance companies would be advantages.
  • Ability to effectively manage resources to deliver project responsibilities on time, and to expectations
