Senior Fire Engineer – Manchester
Vertical Recruitment are working with one of the industry’s most sort-after Fire Engineering Consultancies, with an immediate need for a Senior Fire Engineer in Manchester. The company specialise in providing innovative solutions for complex fire safety challenges and are looking for Senior Fire Engineers to join a team and help deliver high-quality fire engineering services to clients. Candidates must have the following experience:
” Over 4 years of relevant experience within Fire Engineering.
” Degree Qualified.
” A full member of the Institute of Fire Engineers, (CEng, MIFireE) would be desirable.
” Developing expertise in delivering fire safety engineering solutions in a multi-disciplinary environment with solid experience in developing fire strategies, undertaking engineering analysis and applying performance-based designs
” Familiar with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
” Demonstrated leadership, planning and practical solution skills.
Your role and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
” Be familiar with RIBA stages of design or other design frameworks (e.g. GRIP) and understand the total fire concept: from the client brief through to construction and operation, the fire engineering challenges relevant to different design stages and the level/type of fire engineering input required to progress the design and contribute to completion.
” Conduct fire safety assessments and develop fire safety strategies for a variety of building types and occupancies.
” Undertake fire safety engineering calculations and modelling using relevant software.
” Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to provide expert advice on fire safety and fire engineering matters.
” Mentor and train junior fire engineers within the team.
” Excellent report-writing skills.
” Keep up to date with relevant fire safety legislation and industry best practices.
