Our client is a newly established Cost Management Consultancy based in Preston. Their team is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to their clients in the Industrial market. With several successful project wins on the horizon starting in early 2024, we are expanding our team and seeking a talented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join us.
Role Overview: As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will have the opportunity to work alongside the owner of the business, who is also an APC assessor. This provides an excellent environment for APC training and the prospect of becoming MRICS qualified. You will be actively involved in supporting projects with Developers within the Industrial sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and management of cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts for industrial projects.
- Contribute to contract administration processes, including the preparation of contract documents, valuations, and variations.
- Engage in structured APC training under the guidance of the owner, taking advantage of the opportunity to work towards MRICS qualification.
- Collaborate with clients and project teams to understand their requirements, providing timely and accurate cost advice.
- Work closely with the owner and project teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects, meeting quality and budgetary targets.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a consultancy role.
- Progress towards APC qualification is desirable.
- Strong understanding of cost management principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Location and Working Arrangement: The position is based in Preston, and the working arrangement is hybrid, allowing for a flexible and balanced approach.
