Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Planner to work in the Nuclear sector. This freelance position, based in Cheshire, will be instrumental in driving the planning and scheduling efforts for projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the effective development, maintenance, and integration of project schedules in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This is agile working with 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home.

Responsibilities:

Interactive Planning Sessions:

  • Facilitate and lead interactive planning sessions with project teams to collaboratively develop project schedules.
  • Engage stakeholders to gather input and insights necessary for comprehensive schedule development.

Project Activity Planning:

  • Plan project activities in consultation with project managers and teams.
  • Develop detailed schedules that encompass all aspects of project work, including milestones, dependencies, and resource requirements.

Baseline Schedule Creation:

  • Generate initial project baseline schedules using industry-standard scheduling tools.
  • Provide expert planning guidance to project teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.

Interface Milestones and Contractor Coordination:

  • Ensure that project schedules incorporate all interface milestones critical to project success.
  • Collaborate closely with multiple contractors to integrate their activity durations seamlessly into the overall project schedule.

Flawless Integration of Requirements:

  • Oversee the integration of all project requirements, deliverables, and resources throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the alignment of schedules with project objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Ideally experience as a Project Planner in the Nuclear sector.
  • Expertise in facilitating interactive planning sessions.
  • Proficiency in creating and managing project baseline schedules using tools such as Microsoft Project and P6 Primavera.
  • Strong understanding of interface milestones and coordination with multiple contractors.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.

You will be required to gain security clearance (if you don’t already have it) so will need to have permanent right to work in the UK and have been in the UK for the last 3 years
