Job Description

Our Client is a construction and civil engineering firm specialising in ground works and civil projects in the North West region. They have an immediate need for a Quantity Surveyor to join on a part-time freelance basis.

They are looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor with civils experience to support small to medium-sized ground work civil projects in the North West. As a part-time freelance Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing project costs, contracts, and financial aspects, ensuring the successful delivery of the projects.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor project costs and budgets, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
2. Administer contracts, including subcontract agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
3. Prepare and review project estimates and tenders, providing accurate cost assessments.
4. Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
5. Assess and manage variations to contracts, ensuring proper documentation and negotiation of changes.
6. Assist in the procurement of materials and subcontractors, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
7. Evaluate work completed and authorize payments to contractors and subcontractors.

Qualifications:
” Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
” Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil construction projects.
” Knowledge of construction contracts, particularly NEC and JCT.
” Strong numerical and analytical skills.
” Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
” Attention to detail and accuracy.
” Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
” Knowledge of health and safety regulations in construction is a plus.
