We have a fantastic career opportunity for an experienced Senior Bills of Quantities Expert to join an award-winning multi-disciplinary Construction Consultancy in Manchester.
Joining this consultancies BQ team, you’ll work on projects across various sectors, from airport redevelopments, stadiums, all the way to luxury bedroom apartments.
What you will do:
- Measuring and billing work items with a client-friendly touch.
- Delegating tasks to exceptional quantity surveyors and collaboratively setting deadlines.
- Collaborating with the Bill Production team to ensure project timelines are met.
- Engaging with contractor clients to foster positive relationships.
- Addressing query sheets during the measurement process.
- Skilfully managing addenda information during the measurement and billing process.
- Conducting the initial QA checks on Bill Sections to ensure accuracy.
- Distributing Bills of Quantities/Detailed Builder’s Quantities to our contractor clients.
- Safeguarding all bill measurement-related data for organised record-keeping.
- Alerting the Associate Director to any necessary amendments post QA checks.
- Assisting in the development of computer-aided measurement systems such as CostX and Navisworks.
Requirements:
- Is a Bills of Quantities expert with substantial hands-on experience.
- Possesses an insatiable passion for Bills of Quantities and is eager to continue refining their skills.
- Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Excels under the pressure of tight deadlines.
- Is well-versed in SMM7 & NRM2, with some familiarity with CESSM4 (although not mandatory).
- Has a background in tools like CostX, ConQuest, CATO, Q-Script, or similar.
- Demonstrates proficiency in Bluebeam, Navisworks, and Revit for both enjoyment and quantification.
- May have some team management experience, though it is not a mandatory requirement.
