We have a fantastic career opportunity for a career minded Senior Quantity Surveyor (PQS) to join a thriving Construction Consultancy in their Birmingham office.
They are an ambitious and dynamic company with a remarkable culture who are looking to appoint a Senior level Quantity Surveyor to support and grow their established Client base and some recent project wins within the Private Building Sectors.
The role will involve providing Cost Consultancy services on a huge range of student accommodation, private residential and commercial projects all local to the Midlands ranging from £40m – £50m.
What you will do:
” Evaluate costs and advise on alternative proposals
” Provide advice on contract arrangements and conditions under which building will be constructed
” Advise architects and engineers on the cost implications of different construction methods, alternative choices of materials and size and quality of the project to ensure that each element is reconciled with the cost plan allowance and the overall project remains within budget
” Prepare tendering documents
” Manage the costs of projects during the construction stage and negotiate final accounts
” Lead from the front as regards to client facing meetings, dealing with multi-disciplined teams
and project delivery
The ideal candidate will:
” Previous experience in a cost consultancy practice.
” Minimum 5+ years PQS experience, and prior high rise residential/commercial sector experience
” Employer’s Agent experience
” Be experienced in managing projects in excess of £20m+
” A member of a professional body institute such as RICS
” You have experience in contract administration and using various forms of contract, in particular, JCT/NEC will be preferable.
” Previous experience of managing people and risk management.
” Digital savvy and can build lasting client relationships and work well as part of a team.
