Our client is a progressive and innovative chartered quantity surveying organisation providing both traditional and contemporary commercial services to the construction industry.
You will be involved in the refurbishment of a data centre project. Therefore, this client seeks a candidate who is experienced and has a track record of success in M&E within the building services industry.
They want to welcome a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor into their flourishing team. The team has experience across all the main construction industry sectors and manage projects ranging from small scale schemes through to major multi-phase developments.
They have a network of offices across the UK and Europe, and they have recently established a Manchester office this is a great opportunity to join a new team and expanding team in a vibrant city.
What you will do:
” Conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports. Applying the value management techniques at the outset of a project
” Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan
” Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed
” Handling of contractual frameworks and standard form of contract
” Being a key interface with client, stakeholders, and other consultants at all project stages
” Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients
” Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes
What you need:
” Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
” Chartered the RICS, or equivalent
” JCT / NEC experience
” 3+ years M&E experience
” Commercially astute with good negotiation skills
” Sound experience in consultancy
” Experience with the data centre sector is ideal but not essential
