Job Description

Vertical Recruitment are working closely with an award-winning Cost and Project Management Consultancy who seeking an accomplished Senior Quantity Surveyor in the surrounding area of Castle Donington.

This role offers an opportunity to be part of their specialist Quantity Surveying Infrastructure Team. Being involved with such a prestigious team will offer you no shortage of landmark projects.

The successful Quantity Surveyor will work closely with a flourishing and long-standing client base within the Water and Utilities sector. This company delivers expert knowledge and helps transform local communities for the better, thus making it ideal for a candidate who is expert in the infrastructure field.

With the added benefit of a hybrid working policy, you will be office based 2 days a week (Castle Donington) with 3 days working remotely (at home or in one of our clients offices Manchester/Liverpool/Leeds).

What you will do:
” Support the Commercial Team to ensure compliance with systems, processes, and procedures on Contracts.
” Work within strict deadlines required under the Contract(s) and as required
” Financial monitoring and reporting of Contracts assigned
” Establishing suitable construction contracts with clients to suit procurement needs
” Preparation of accurate financial statements in respect of Contracts assigned
” Commercial completion of the Contracts including maintaining contemporary records for use in supporting claims, extensions of time, and evaluation of variations
” Manage the appointment and ongoing management of subcontractors including payment applications, final accounts etc
” Ensure prompt submission of invoices and/or applications of payment to clients
” Assist Business Development in producing information for PQQ’s and Tenders
” Develop the Commercial and Operations Team through training and mentoring

What you need:
” BSc in Quantity Surveying
” A full member of the RICS or working towards your Chartership
” Experience within the Water/Utilities sectors
” A good understanding of the NEC suite of construction contracts – options A, B, and C
” Familiar with cost planning and tendering practice and procedure
” Ability to procure and administer contracts with multiple projects whilst working with main contractor and sub-contractors
” High attention to detail focused on successful project delivery
” Excellent stakeholder management skills with a keen desire to build and maintain client relationships
” Able to become embedded within a team to drive forward positive results
