Senior Transport Planner – Multiple Locations
Vertical Recruitment are working closely with a well sought after multidisciplinary consultancy, they have 14 offices across the UK, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. They have exciting ambitions to move into active travel, public realm, transport master planning, bus infrastructure improvements and various other related things. To assist with this, they are hiring for an experienced, driven Senior Transport Planner.
They are looking to enable the highways team to secure infrastructure work due to growth.
” Someone who has active travel or urban realm from a transport planning perspective, experience – if someone has this skillset, we would be keen to talk to them.
” Must have experience in transport planning.
” Must have good analytical skills and report writing.
” Must have experience in Traffic analysis.
” Must have modelling experience – doesn’t need to be an expert but some experience
The ideal Candidate:
” The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, this is especially important as they will be working as part of a team of one. This role is not just about capability, it will also be about growth and other skills.
” This person will be the 2IC to the current Associate in the team, Could sit in any of their offices or can work hybrid but they will need to have the confidence to work independently.
” Client facing, leading on projects, leading the production of transport studies, transport assessments, could cover everything from travel to parking management strategies, development planning, travel planning, behavioural change etc – so the experience is vast that this person will be exposed to.
” They don’t want a specialist, but this person needs to knows transport planning
” Someone who could do policy – needs to be a good writer.
” They are keen to look at anyone who has experience or an interest in spatial and urban design; transport planning/design; business case/economics; transport data analysis/modelling (all levels); GIS/ Accessibility; Active Travel; Bus Infrastructure; development planning; travel planning/behavioural change
Day to day duties:
Taking the work load of current associate:
” transportation assessment
” Travel planning
” Construction traffic management plans
” Need to advise colleagues on how things should be done, point of contact for transport/ traffic related.
