Job Description

Our client is a leading and innovative build-to-rent residential development company with a strong presence in the North of England. Their commitment to delivering exceptional homes and communities has made them a trusted name in the industry. They are seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Project Manager to join their team and contribute to their ongoing success.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of residential development projects. You will work closely with the Project Director to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a construction-related degree and 1 to 2 years of relevant experience to grow their career in the residential development sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the Project Director to assist in planning, organising, and executing residential development projects from inception to completion.
  2. Assist in the monitoring and control of project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to financial targets.
  3. Help develop and maintain project schedules, track progress, and identify potential delays. Ensure that project milestones are achieved on time.
  4. Ensure that construction work meets the company’s quality standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular site inspections and address quality issues promptly.
  5. Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and resolve any issues that may arise.
  6. Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, drawings, specifications, and change orders. Assist in the preparation of reports for management and clients.
  7. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise project disruptions. Proactively address safety concerns and maintain a safe working environment.
  8. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and site personnel, to facilitate project progress.
  9. Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and health and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field (e.g., Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture).
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in ideally residential development / construction or project management.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and best practices.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
