Job Description

Our client is a leading and innovative build-to-rent residential development company with a strong presence in the North of England. Their commitment to delivering exceptional homes and communities has made them a trusted name in the industry. They are seeking a dedicated and motivated Project Manager to join their team and contribute to their ongoing success.

As the Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of residential development projects. You will work closely with the Project Director to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a construction-related degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience to grow their career in the residential development sector.

Purpose of the job:

To take ownership of aspects of each project under their control from handover through to completion of the Defects Liability Period. Support the delivery of the contract programme with the following areas:

  • Health and safety management including information for the Health and Safety File
  • Quality Control
  • Cost control (in liaison with the Commercial Team
  • Ensuring that the site is set up to the highest standards
  • Co-ordination and liaison with Contractors
  • Attendance, input and preparation on reporting for all meetings in relation to the project
  • Accurate records are taken and follow up actions from the meetings
  • Report writing
  • Resolving conflicts between various stakeholders
  • Provide appropriate written instruction as required by the Senior PM
  • To have a clear understanding of the way the job is priced to enable us to take full benefit of any opportunities for variations, change is specification or scope of works to minimise losses against the target cost
  • Check all the required documents are controlled and in place.

Qualifications / Experience Required:

  • Hold a degree and or professional qualification eg PM, QS, Institute of Building/ Building Surveying,
  • Contract Management or similar etc
  • Ideally, 2 -5 years + in a similar role
  • Understanding and or familiarity with RIVA stages 1- 4, NHBC and Construction standards
  • Experience of using systems
  • SMSTS – ideally
  • Full UK driving licence is essential for regular site travel.
