Job Description

I am currently working on an excellent opportunity for an Assistant/QS to play an integral role within an SME’s Quantity Surveying team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering efficient cost management services across a diverse range of affordable housing & residential projects throughout the project life cycle. This construction consultancy is committed to providing robust training and consistent guidance to support your professional development and enhance your contributions to the company.

Given current procurement trends, it’s essential for the individual to possess the skills and experience necessary to excel in the role of Employer’s Agent.

The chosen candidate will gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects and access to a wealth of expertise, paving the way for them to excel and evolve into well-rounded professionals.

What you will do:
” The production of feasibility estimates.
” Cost planning through the RIBA Stages and advising on design options.
” Preparation of tender documentation, tender analysis and preparing tender recommendations.
” Compiling contract documentation and administering the contract.
” Monitoring costs of projects and their progress in relation to the agreed programme, budget and quality standards.

Requirements:
” Strong interpersonal skills
” High degree of numeracy, literacy and attention to detail
” Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
” 1-2 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
” Residential/Affordable housing experience is advantageous
” Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
” Familiarity with construction contracts, procurement processes, and relevant regulations.
