Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 1-2 years post graduate experience to join a busy Construction Consultancy.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful delivery within budget and on schedule. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will also be responsible for accurately estimating costs, managing budgets, and providing cost control advice throughout the project lifecycle.

The key projects include a national rollout of a restaurant chain, a hotel, industrial warehouse and commercial offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement effective cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring compliance with approved budgets.
  • Identify and analyse potential cost risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Review and evaluate contractor payment applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
  • Assist in the negotiation and settlement of final accounts with contractors and clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, procurement processes, and relevant regulations.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in quantity surveying techniques, cost estimating, and cost control methods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculations and financial analysis.
